Brans are an outer shell of a grain. Rye cleans the intestinal tube thoroughly, and its mineral composition regulates the level of triglycerides and cholesterol in the blood. Rye grain contains on average 70% of carbohydrates, 12% of proteins, 1.8% of fat, 3.5%  of dietary fibers, B complex vitamins and vitamin E. Mostly it contains phosphorus, magnesium, silicon, potassium, manganese, calcium, iron and fluorine. Manganese  connects very well potassium and iron, so it is recommended for fighting anemia. Rye membrane contains more vitamins and minerals than wheat, has less gluten and starch, and is suitable for people suffering from diabetes. Rye brans are very good source of lignans. Lignans are phytoestrogens and antioxidants, for which it has been scientifically proven to act preventively against prostate and breast cancer, osteoporosis and heart disease.
