Brans are an outer shell of a grain. Wheat brans contain fibers, they are rich in vitamins and minerals -iron, phosphorus, magnesium, manganese, and cellulose. Wheat brans contain 43% – 44% of raw vegetable fibers, most of it is cellulose, which is insoluble. From vitamins, vitamin B9 is most important ie folic acid and it also contains vitamins B1, B2,B3, B5, B6, B8 and vitamin E. They improve digestion, balance stomach and intestinal flora, and cures the stomach acid. Thanks to vitamin B6 they improve brain function, reduce blood sugar and cholesterol, and are also suitable for weight loss.
PORRIDGE WITH BRAN & GERM
3-4 spoons of wheat bran
1-2 of wheat germs or 1-2 of rye bran with germ
2 dl of water or milk
1 tea spoon of honey
Little bit of cranbaries
Little bit of almonds or hazelnuts, cinnamon.
Wheat bran and germ mix together and pour hot water or milk over it. Leave it for about 5-10 minutes. Add the rest of ingredients
Enjoy in a rich meal!
Advice: You can put wheat bran in any kind of cooked meal: 1-3 spoons won’t change the taste of a meal and they will increase fiber level. This will improve digestion and help with detoxification.
