Corn flour contains a long list of nutrients. It is a source of niacin, thiamine, riboflavin, pantothenic acid, folate and vitamins B6, E and K. It contains 18 amino acids and valuable minerals, such as magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, copper, manganese and selenium. Whole corn grain flour moves through hoses faster than other types of food, which reduces the amount of waste materials that remain inside the body. Another benefit of consuming corn flour is that it makes cells in the colon thicker, and also enhances antioxidant activity. When we include the corn flour in the diet, immunity improves. Consuming whole grains such as corn grains can also benefit in terms of cardiac and circulatory health, and they also reduce cholesterol. Corn flour can also prevent fattening because it contains fibers and complex carbohydrates. Polenta is an excellent choice for babies and children. Another reason that this meal is ideal for children is because it prevents low immune system.
INGREDIENTS( for 2 servings):
-200g of instant organic polenta (corn grits)
-4 glasses (200ml) of water
-pinch of salt
-a dice of butter
Add a pinch of salt to the boiling water. After that slowly add the polenta to the boiling water. Keep stirring for 3-5 minutes, or until the mixture thickens. Optionally, for a “creamy structure”, lower the cooking temperature and add a dice of butter . Cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring gently, until the mixture gets creamy.
